Week 2, Day 16/18/2018 And we back! Week 2 began with a 96 degree day... perfect weather for an outside community event, right? Luckily, the lot we chose offered lots of shade and the weather compromised with a nice breeze. Together, the campers and counselors set up tables and chairs in one of the lot possibilities for building in Mount Vernon Park, setting a space for the community to gather and listen to the campers present what they observed about the neighborhood (strengths and weaknesses) and their ideas for how to make it even better by building on a strength or meeting a need. With the hot weather, only two members of the neighborhood showed up-- but the campers presented as if to a full room. Afterwards, the campers and counselors debriefed on how the event and presentations went, and discussed the feedback they received from the audience. Check out the slideshow of photos below for a glimpse into the campers' first major presentation day.
