Day 3 Tired-A-Lot Spring Break Camp4/4/2018 Students didn't seem to notice that day 3 of Spring Break camp started out with snow! After breakfast and devotions - which included a great team building exercise involving experiencing what it is to be a part of something that is bigger than one person's contribution, the students got to work on reviewing their ideas from day two and discussing how those ideas could fuse together to create one mural that told the story of their neighborhood. It was a great experience to watch the students determine what their collective message was and how that message would be visually displayed. Once that was done, they went to work on putting that image on paper, deciding what their "canvas" would be for their mural and determining how they would convert their 11" x 17" image to a 3 paneled triptych measuring roughly 8'x25'!
Once the details were worked out, we set off to the hardware store to get all the needed supplies. Picking out paint colors was no small task! By the time we got back to the "camp site" there was barely time to get the canvas (3 wood doors from the hardware) ready to prime for day 4 - painting the mural!
